If you wanted to hit it big in Massachusetts this year, the smart money was on biotech.
Among the 20 Massachusetts-based companies with the greatest stock gains this year, 11 are in the biotechnology sector, according to data from Bloomberg as of Monday morning. Another four are medical device companies or otherwise in the health care field.
