Biotechnology firm Starpharma Holdings Ltd has appointed chief operating officer Dr Jackie Fairley as its new chief executive officer. Dr Fairley has worked in conjunction with former CEO Dr John Raff, who is retiring from the role, for the past 12 months as part of Starpharma’s CEO succession strategy. Dr Raff, who had been the biotech’s CEO since it was established in 1996, will remain a non-executive director of the company and will assume the position of deputy chairman on the board.
