Recent mergers and acquisitions in the life sciences industry have bloodied parts of the East Bay's job market this year, though one local analyst still offers a healthy long-term prognosis. Berlex Inc. plans to eliminate 210 jobs when it shuts its Richmond bioscience research center, according to a notice filed with state labor officials. Berlex is scheduled to jettison the jobs at the end of this month, the state Employment Development Department report shows. The company confirmed the job cuts Thursday.
