Ellen Corbett’s uncompromising desire to create a biotechnology center at California State University, Hayward, continued to gain support, the latest coming from a state subcommittee. The Senate Appropriations Committee last week signed off on Bill 1885, which calls for thecreation of such a center at Cal State Hayward. The bill’s approval is the latest victory for Corbett, D-San Leandro. For the past year, the assemblywoman has spearheaded efforts to bring the East Bay Biotechnology Center to Cal State Hayward.
