New consultants deepen BPTC’s capabilities in critical areas

WOBURN, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--BioProcess Technology Consultants Inc., the leading provider of Chemistry, Manufacturing and Controls (CMC) services in the global life sciences industry, announced it has hired two additional consultants as it continues to grow and expand its service offerings.

The new employees bring BPTC’s consulting staff to a total of 21 and underscore the firm’s commitment to providing an expanding range of technical, regulatory and strategic assistance to pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies as they develop and commercialize biopharmaceutical products.

New members of the BPTC team include:

Sonit Tomar, Ph.D. Dr. Tomar is the former associate director of analytical development and technical operations at Epirus Biopharmaceuticals. At Epirus, Dr. Tomar was responsible for biosimilar characterization and comparability studies. He previously worked at Genzyme and MassBiologics. His skill set includes bioprocess development, analytical methods and formulation development, comparability, quality control, technology transfer, and CMC regulatory issues. He earned his Ph.D. from the Polytechnic Institute of New York University.

Arvilla Trag. Prior to joining BPTC, Ms. Trag led her own consulting company where she specialized in preparing INDs, CMC sections of BLAs, investigator brochures and informed consent forms for clients ranging from startups to multi-national biopharmaceutical companies. She has conducted more than 250 cGMP compliance audits of contract manufacturers and testing labs, performed due diligence for M&A, and performed gap analyses of quality systems. She previously held senior positions at Biopure and Virogenetics.
