BioKansas To Announce Kansas BioGENEius Challenge Winner

Winner will advance to compete against students across the globe

LENEXA, Kan.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--BioKansas will announce the winner of the Kansas BioGENEius Challenge following its board meeting at the KU Medical Center Research Institute – Fairway, KS. The Kansas BioGENEius Challenge is a premier competition for high school students conducting research in biotechnology in Kansas. The winner advances to Philadelphia, PA, to compete against 14 other peers from the U.S. and Canada in the International BioGENEius Challenge. In 2011, Kansas winner Prarthana Dalal went on to win the International BioGENEius Challenge where she received a cash prize of $7,500.

This year four high school student projects will compete to represent the state of Kansas at the International BioGENEius Challenge. Finalists will present to the judges from 3:00-4:20pm in the Fairway Auditorium, Room 1106, and the winner will be announced during a BioBreak in the lobby area of the KU Medical Center Research Institute at 5:15pm. Kansas BioGENEius Challenge Winner Announced at BioBreak in the lobby area of the KU Medical Research Institute – 4350 Shawnee Mission Parkway, Fairway, KS 66205.
