14 August 2013 -- The BioIndustry Association (BIA) is pleased to highlight the fact that more financial assistance than ever before is available to eligible organisations who wish to join international trade missions to biotech events this autumn. As a Government Accredited Trade Organisation the BIA works closely with BioPartner UK and UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) to offer members the opportunity to join supported UK delegations to major biotech conferences around the globe. Grant funding is available to eligible BIA and BioPartner member companies to significantly offset costs for many of the missions, with discounts also available on some flights.
Attending an international trade delegation, either as an exhibitor or simply a conference attendee, gives companies and research or academic institutions the chance to save money while raising their profile at the conference. The UK Pavilion can be used as a base to display literature and organisation logos whilst delegates attend partnering meetings and presentations. Other benefits of joining the UK delegation include organisational assistance and on-site support such as SMS notification of networking opportunities.
Steve Bates, BIA Chief Executive Officer, said:
“We always hear fantastic feedback from companies who have joined a UK delegation to international biotech events. Joining the UK Pavilion really increases a company’s presence and, together with the financial assistance offered to members through our close relationship with BioPartner UK and UKTI, these trade missions open up excellent networking opportunities to organisations of any size.”
Upcoming discounted missions this September to November include to ‘BioPartnering Latin America 2013' (Rio de Janeiro), ‘BioPharm America 2013' and ‘Redefining Early Stage Investment’ (both in Boston), ‘AusBioTech 2013' (Brisbane), ‘BIO-Europe 2013' (Vienna), ‘SynBio Beta 2013' (San Francisco) and ‘2013 BIO Convention in China’ (Beijing).
