BioIndustry Association Decreases Fees for 2012

7 December 2011 -- The BioIndustry Association (BIA) is delighted to announce that the membership fees for its core members - the small and medium sized bioscience companies developing innovative new medicines - have been reduced for 2012. Additionally, the BIA's fees for all other members have been held at the 2011 rate.

Glyn Edwards, interim Chief Executive of the BIA, said:

"Despite the hostile environment the BIA has great plans for 2012 to help members tackle the challenges around funding, taxation, patents, research regulation and patient access to life-enhancing therapies.

"To ensure that measures recently announced in the Life Sciences Strategy and Finance Bill 2012 meet the needs of our members, the BIA must have a strong, unified voice to continue to work with government and the regulators.

"Alongside our stakeholder engagement the BIA also provides a range of member services and sector-leading events which provide the opportunity for members to learn from the experience of experts, provide input into our engagement activities and to network with their peers."
