If you’re of a certain age, you may remember sprinters and short-distance runners taking bee pollen supplements around the time of the 1972 and 1976 Summer Olympics. Several U.S. and Scandinavian gold medalists touted the supplement as providing energy and preventing colds. Bee pollen has been touted, but never proven, to improve “vitality” as indicated from its derivation as a traditional Chinese medicine.
