German drug and chemicals group Bayer cited on Friday a study that showed the active ingredient in Aspirin lowered the mortality rate in recurring intestinal cancer.Taking the drug regularly also lowered recurrence of the disease by 48 percent, it said in a statement.Bayer invented the pain and fever drug more than a century ago.
