“One of our goals at TruHearing is to make hearing healthcare more affordable for more people,” said Tommy Macdonald, TruHearing CEO. “Aligning ourselves with the Olive Osmond Hearing Fund was a natural fit and we’re honored to help them as they help families afford hearing aids for their children.”
Justin Osmond, CEO & Founder of the Olive Osmond Hearing Fund, accepted the donation on behalf of the Fund. “We’re truly grateful that TruHearing was able to raise these funds to help give more children the gift of hearing and continue raising awareness of important hearing loss issues,” he said.
Hearing loss is a widespread health issue that affects over 20% of Americans. Despite the prevalence of hearing loss in the US, the cost of hearing aids keep many people from seeking treatment, including families that have children with hearing loss. Providing hearing aids to young children as early as possible is crucial to their natural speech and cognitive development.
The Olive Osmond Hearing Fund’s mission is to improve and provide educational, musical, and hearing resources for the deaf and hard of hearing. The Fund not only provides quality hearing aids to the deaf and hard of hearing, but also builds bridges by helping these kids be all they can be. The Fund intervenes at an early age to help children with hearing loss connect with their families, friends and life by providing resources, inspiring messages, experiences, examples and role models.
TruHearing partners with health insurance companies across the country to provide their members with affordable prices on brand-name hearing aids through discount and embedded hearing aid benefit programs. Today, over 100 million Americans have access to TruHearing through their health insurance, helping hearing loss sufferers save thousands of dollars each year on devices that help them to hear everyday life every day.
