Tobii Dynavox Supports ‘Steve Gleason Act’; Applauds Congressional Effort To Protect Communication For Those With Disabilities

PITTSBURGH & WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Tobii Dynavox, the global leader in assistive technology for those with communication disabilities, applauded Representatives Cathy McMorris Rodgers, R-Wash., Erik Paulsen, R-Minn., and Steve Scalise, R-La., for co-sponsoring H.R. 628, introduced in the 114th Congress as The Steve Gleason Act of 2015. The bill seeks to improve Medicare regulations in order to protect patient access to medically necessary speech generating devices (SGD) for those individuals with communication disabilities, including patients living with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), cerebral palsy, and Rett syndrome.
