Summit Global Partners Expands Employee Benefits Consultancy; Senior Insurance Executive To Lead New Pacific Region

SAN FRANCISCO, April 2 /PRNewswire/ -- International insurance brokerage and consulting firm Summit Global Partners announces it is expanding SGP’s Employee Benefits Practice by establishing a Pacific Region office in San Francisco. This follows the successful launch last year of the Pacific Region Healthcare Practice serving California and the Northwest from its El Dorado Hills office.

“The California market is extremely important to SGP,” says Jack Wagner, office of the president, Summit Global Partners, Inc. “Our clients in California and throughout the region are telling us it is the right time to expand our employee benefits consultancy.”

SGP’s Employee Benefits Practice helps middle-market and large-scale companies meet today’s challenges in providing health insurance and other benefits to employees.

“With the rising costs and the increasing complexity of benefit plan options, employers are struggling to maintain benefit plans that attract and retain talented employees,” says Michael Oster, chairman of Summit Global Partners Insurance Services of California, Inc. “SGP is forming a team of talented, experienced benefits experts that will help companies craft effective, yet affordable health insurance programs.”

Bernie Tillotson joins the company as president of SGP Employee Benefits Practice - Pacific Region. Tillotson leaves Arthur J. Gallagher where he had served as area president for Gallagher Benefit Services (Northwest) for the past 13 years. He has nearly 28 years experience in employee benefits and human resources.

“Our client-centered approach is really new for the industry,” says Tillotson. “By building strategic relationships with our clients, we solve problems that enable them to be more effective and more successful than their peers.”

The move allows SGP to continue to expand its capacity to provide employee benefits consulting to the more than 10,000 clients of SGP’s insurance brokerage and risk management consulting business. The new practice will be located at SGP’s existing office at 100 Pine Street, Suite 2200 in San Francisco.
