JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Nov. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Nemours employees will count one more blessing over their Thanksgiving turkeys this year. During their November open enrollment period, they were introduced to the Nemours Children’s Health Plan, which will provide 100% health care coverage for children of full-time employees -- for free. This new benefit is designed to provide complete health insurance coverage for eligible children age 0-18 for which the full-time Nemours employee will pay no premium, no co-pay and no deductible. The comprehensive plan will provide coverage for immunizations, well-child visits, routine care, inpatient and outpatient care provided in- or out-of-network. The coverage will take effect January 1, 2005.
As one of the nation’s largest nonprofit organizations devoted to children’s health and health care, Nemours created this program as a part of a continuing effort to align benefit programs to be consistent with its values. More than insurance coverage, the Nemours Children’s Health Plan is part of an overall program designed to build bridges from childhood to a healthy and successful adulthood. Drawing upon its health and prevention expertise, Nemours also will customize and provide tools and resources to help promote and prevent disease in the children of its 3,500 employees.
