Ministry Of Health And Prevention Launches “Clinicalkey” Service To Enhance “Wareed” System

Formal unveiling held at GITEX Technology Week 2017

UAE, October 10, 2017 - The Ministry of Health and Prevention has launched its ‘ClinicalKey’ service during its participation at GITEX Technology Week 2017, which is taking place at the Dubai World Trade Center (DWTC). The newly introduced service is part of the Ministry’s smart initiatives developed to bring customer happiness and satisfaction. H.E Awad Saghir Al Ketbi, Assistant Undersecretary for Support Services, said the Ministry focuses on the provision of comprehensive and integrated healthcare services; health information system development; implementation of internationally recognized health infrastructure management standards; and establishment of high-quality health systems.

He noted that the ‘ClinicalKey’ service will further enhance the ’Wareed’ system in terms of building the local electronic health records. The new service is connected to the ‘Wareed’ program which links various Ministry-run health facilities through an integrated information technology infrastructure. The ‘Wareed’ system facilitates the transfer of patients and exchange of medical data between government hospitals and private health facilities in accordance with global standards.

Mubaraka Ibrahim, Director, Health Information Systems Department, said, “Linking the ‘ClinicalKey’ with the ‘Wareed’ system is the most efficient and effective way to search for the latest research and evidence-based clinical information on the patient’s condition. It ensures easy access to health records when needed.”

Specific diagnoses and doctors’ clinical decisions are entered into the system, providing doctors and nurses with immediate access to relevant and updated medical and surgical information as soon as health services are extended.

As for the benefits of the new service, Ibrahim said it will serve as a reliable reference for medical service providers. The medical details are based on the latest scientific research and globally accepted evidence that can back any critical medical decision of healthcare providers. The service also ensures safe patient care by applying the highest level of modern health standards. Lastly, it contributes to better results by supporting rapid and more accurate diagnosis and critical decision-making, as well as reducing medical errors to mitigate the government’s national health expenditures.
