Clermont-Ferrand, France, 19 September 2007 – METabolic EXplorer, an industrial biotechnology company focused on the bio-production of bulk chemicals (“Green Chemistry”), announced today that it has started the development of its first pilot production facility. This is an important strategic step for the company as it will enable METabolic EXplorer to confirm on a pilot scale the attractive economics of its biological based approach which will ultimately be used for the large scale production of bulk chemicals. The new flexible facility can be used for the pilot production of any of the company’s proprietary products, namely, 1,2 Propanediol (MPG), 1,3 Propanediol (PDO) and Butanol.
