Medical Device Manufacturers Association Release: International Healthcare Leaders To Meet With U.S. Medical Device Executives

WASHINGTON, June 3 /PRNewswire/ -- The Medical Device Manufacturers Association (MDMA) in conjunction with renowned international reimbursement expert, Ed Rozynski, will host ‘How to Gain Overseas Access and Reimbursement of Medical Technology’ on June 21st in Washington, D.C.

The one-day conference focusing on the United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, and China, will address a number of recent developments that present great challenges to growing companies in accessing funds for medical devices in these rapidly growing markets.

 * The U.K. continues to expand its bundled payment system and recently gave a dozen hospitals the freedom to make their own technology purchasing decisions. * Germany is recalculating the relative weights for its reimbursement system. * And other countries such as Japan and China are shifting their payment systems and price lists for new technology.

High level executives and government officials from the United Kingdom, Germany, Japan and the U.S. will discuss:

 * The new bundled payment system in the U.K.; * The value and ways to earn a favorable NICE assessment; * The German healthcare insurance system for hospital and ambulatory care, compared to the U.S., including the payment system for technology; and * Gaining access and reimbursement of new technology in Japan and China including the new user fee process.

The conference also includes a round table luncheon discussion and the unique opportunity for attendees to sit down one-on-one with the speakers for special counseling sessions.

The conference will be held at the Phoenix Park Hotel in Washington, D.C., beginning at 8:15 a.m., Monday, June 21st, continuing through 5:00 p.m. Detailed registration and accommodation information can be found on the MDMA website, http://www.medicaldevices.org/.
