MCHENRY, Ill., March 31, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Medela has announced the addition of the Invia® Motion-15-Days and Invia® Motion-Endure personal pumps to its Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (NPWT) portfolio of products and services. These new devices, along with the Invia® Liberty reusable system, reflect Medela’s continued commitment to provide innovative, high-quality NPWT solutions, designed to provide safe and effective advanced wound treatment to patients.
“We are happy to be able to offer devices adapted to every patient`s treatment needs,” says Mitch Odahowski, vice president of Healthcare Medela, Inc. “With these products, we are developing a new class of personal pumps, giving the patient mobility and freedom while providing individualized therapy.”
The comprehensive Medela Invia Motion portfolio offers clinical flexibility to support patient needs. With a choice of solutions across the continuum of care for simplified acute and post-acute NPWT management, the Invia Motion line of offerings provides the right solution for both patients and healthcare budgets.
The Invia® Motion-15-Days is a personal device that is designed for short therapy duration or to jump-start the healing process in the hospital. Featuring a range of pressure settings, quiet operation, and a lightweight and compact design, it is ideal for patient mobility and freedom. When advanced wound therapy is required outside of the hospital, the Invia® Motion-Endure provides patients with ongoing support to comfortably go about their daily activities during healing and is billable under CMS HCPCS code E2402. Designed with optimum hygiene in mind, the system features constant or intermittent therapy modes, multiple pressure settings, and multiple drain options that can be used with either antimicrobial gauze or polyurethane foam dressings.
In post-market studies for Invia® Motion performed in the US and EU, clinicians who tested the product reported that the systems are simple and “ready-to-go” with an easy canister replacement technique and a user-friendly interface exceeding clinician and patient expectations.
