ANDOVER, Mass., April 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Sentillion Inc., the leading provider of identity and access management solutions for healthcare, announced today that Lahey Clinic (Lahey) has selected its Vergence(R) product suite to deploy a facility-wide single sign-on solution that will enable clinicians quicker access to its multi-vendor electronic medical records without compromising security.
Lahey will use Sentillion’s Vergence product suite to provide strong authentication, single sign-on and single patient selection across its diverse applications, which comprise Lahey’s unified electronic medical record initiative. Vergence will improve caregiver workflow across all of Lahey’s applications, including MEDITECH, Fuji PACS, Dictaphone, MISYS, Picis, Pyxis, IDXtend and a number of self-developed applications. The integration will be achieved through Vergence Bridge(TM) technology and through the CCOW standard, enabling any application to share the Vergence benefits of single sign-on and single patient selection. Support for the Health Level Seven (HL7) CCOW standard is an important part of Lahey’s global clinical IT strategy and Sentillion was selected because of its founding membership and leadership with the CCOW standard.
“Caregivers at Lahey spend a significant amount of time attempting to access a complete electronic medical record that exists across more than seven applications. We looked for a solution that would reduce the time to access information and would increase the time our clinicians could spend with patients,” said Paresh Shah, MD, medical director for information technology at Lahey Clinic. “By implementing Sentillion’s Vergence solution our caregivers gain convenient and secure access to any application while only signing on once. Vergence moves the caregiver through administrative tasks efficiently, improving productivity and patient care across our facility.”
Sentillion’s Vergence product was designed specifically to meet the productivity, privacy and security needs of hospitals, medical centers and healthcare providers. Vergence enables enterprise single sign-on, strong authentication including password, biometrics and proximity technologies, single patient selection and privacy management across any clinical and non- clinical applications.
“We applaud the Lahey Clinic for its user-centered approach to IT. Healthcare applications meant to provide efficiencies often prove difficult to use and do not complement caregiver workflows when they are used in combination with each other,” said Paul Roscoe, senior vice president of field operations for Sentillion. “Sentillion is committed to helping Lahey achieve its goal of providing clinicians with technology that will ultimately improve the quality of patient care.”
