Consultants reported that Venus Temp 2 was used successfully for long-span bridges and other multi-unit cases. They gave the product high marks for esthetics, the ability to be polished to a high luster, its working and intraoral setting times, and the fact that its very low oxygen-inhibited layer aids in handling and polishing. Importantly, 72% would switch to Venus Temp 2 and 84% would recommend it.
Venus Temp 2 is intended for the fabrication of short- and long-term temporary crowns, bridges, inlays, onlays and veneers. The material is a self-cured, fluoride-releasing provisional restorative material composed of multifunctional methacrylic esters. It is available in five shades (A1, A2, A3.5, B1, and Bleach) and is packaged in a 50 mL auto-mix cartridge.
Venus Temp 2 features a working time of 50 seconds and a setting time in the mouth of 1-to-2 minutes. Six minutes after application, the oxygen-inhibited layer can be removed with alcohol and the restoration may be trimmed and polished. Each refill package contains one cartridge of Venus Temp 2 and 12 mixing tips.
“As a loyal user of Venus Temp 2, I heartily agree with THE DENTAL ADVISOR and its assessment of this provisional’s exceptional performance characteristics,” said Lee Ann Brady, DMD. Dr, Brady, who was involved in the preliminary testing of the product and now speaks on its use in dental seminars, lauds Venus Temp 2’s ability to look and feel like the final restoration. “With its exceptional esthetics and functionality, we’re finally able to allow our patients to transition seamlessly from provisional to final restoration.”
