BLOOMINGTON, Minn., Oct. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- HealthPartners today announced that rates will decrease in 2006 for most of its individual Medicare plans. 2006 premiums range from $49 to $202 per month compared to $78 to $700 per month in 2005. Benefit options in the plans include office visit co-pays that range from no cost to 20 percent, some preventive dental coverage, travel benefits and health club membership. Medicare beneficiaries can select coverage with or without Medicare’s new drug Part D prescription drug coverage. HealthPartners currently has 34,000 members in its Medicare plans statewide.
“The biggest savings will be for seniors who are currently in plans that include prescription drug coverage,” said Donna Zimmerman, HealthPartners vice president of government and community relations. “But even for seniors in basic plans, we are pleased to be able to offer more benefits for little or no cost increase,” she added.
Under new federal government rules, 2006 premiums will increase for HealthPartners Classic plan, but the increase is offset by expanded benefits including prescription drug coverage, zero co-pays for office visits and preventive dental coverage. “The good news is that most of the beneficiaries who are currently in this plan will be able to enroll in 2006 in other HealthPartners plans that will maintain their benefits at a lower cost,” said Zimmerman.
HealthPartners has four standard Medicare plans that offer medical coverage with the option to include drug coverage.
