Health Care Workers Union SEIU Release: One Week After Sutter Locked Out 7,000 Nurses And Caregivers

SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- The following release is being issued by Health Care Workers Union SEIU 250:

What When Where Nancy Pelosi joins Monday, Dec. 13 Office of SEIU 250, caregivers to announce at 11 AM 1338 Mission St., ruling against Sutter Health San Francisco (at 9th)

On Monday, caregivers will announce a binding decision by an arbitrator which is highly critical of Sutter’s campaign of intimidation against employees who want to unionize. They will be joined by House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi who will call on Sutter to respect caregivers’ rights to unionize and also reach an amicable resolution to the ongoing contract dispute. The ruling was made by a respected, independent arbitrator who was mutually agreed upon by Sutter and the Health Care Workers Union SEIU 250 to resolve numerous grievances around employees’ efforts to unionize at California Pacific Medical Center over the past 2 years.

With 100,000 members, SEIU 250 is the largest and fastest growing health care union in the Western U.S. We represent every type of health care worker, including nursing, professional, technical, paramedic and service classifications. Our mission is to achieve high quality health care for all.
