ANN ARBOR, Mich., April 14 /PRNewswire/ -- HealthMedia, Inc., the market leader in tailored behavior change programs for lifestyle behaviors, diseases, and conditions, announced today that the Hawaii Medical Service Association (HMSA), through its Integrated Services, Inc. (ISI) subsidiary, will offer HealthMedia(R) programs to its HealthPass program members. HealthPass is one of HMSA’s health promotion and disease prevention programs.
HealthPass members will have access to HealthMedia’s suite of online and paper-based behavior change programs. After participating in an initial health risk assessment called HealthMedia Succeed(R), members will be directed toward lifestyle management programs to meet their individual needs: HealthMedia Balance(R) for weight management & physical activity, HealthMedia Nourish(R) for nutrition, HealthMedia Breathe(R) for smoking cessation, and HealthMedia Relax(R) for stress management.
“We’re very pleased to be implementing Succeed and the lifestyle management programs from HealthMedia,” said Caryn Ireland, HMSA’s Director of Health Promotion and Preventive Services. “We selected HealthMedia because of their comprehensive assessment and intervention capabilities and their ability to service our members both electronically and on paper.”
“Integrating the HealthMedia programs into our HealthPass program will enable us to more effectively serve our members,” said Ireland. “This approach will allow us to assess the health behaviors of our members and equip them with the tools they need to make positive changes in their lives.”
Members will bring their completed Succeed questionnaire to their visit, where HealthPass will collect their biometric measures and submit their questionnaire responses into the HealthMedia tailoring system. Based on the member’s responses, the system will create an individualized health improvement plan to help the member address their specific health issues and provide a convenient means for dialog between the member and the HealthPass health consultant.
“It is an honor to work with HMSA in its continued service to the Hawaii community,” said Ted Dacko, HealthMedia’s President and CEO. “We are proud to offer HMSA a flexible health promotion and disease management solution, helping its members to become more engaged in their health on an individual level.”
