IRVINE, CA--(Marketwire - March 23, 2011) - Lantronix (NASDAQ: LTRX), a leading global provider of smart connectivity solutions that enable access to any device, anywhere, anytime, today announced that Germany-based Eusotec has selected Lantronix’ technology to develop its own flagship product, the ‘Mini-Data Logger and Web Server’. The Lantronix WiBox® and WiPort® device servers enable Eusotec to provision and provide PC-independent remote monitoring systems for varied applications.
Germany-based software engineering and consulting firm Eusotec GmbH focuses on Windows-based applications and individual embedded software solutions, and has a strong heritage in medical technology. In 2009, Eusotec began development on a web server device that would enable wireless data logging, monitoring and alerting for systems not connected to the Internet.
“Lantronix has an exceptionally strong reputation in the marketplace. In working with our local distributor, Sphinx Connect, we realized that the company’s device server products were precisely what we needed to remove the complexity from the RF design and from embedded Ethernet networking,” comments Kai Rohleff, co-founder of Eusotec. “Lantronix’ WiBox® and WiPort® enabled our engineers to quickly develop our flagship product, the Mini-Data Logger. The Mini-Data Logger will open new capabilities and markets for us, especially in the utilities field where measuring energy values is key.”
Eusotec’s innovative product, Mini-Data Logger, performs data storage every five minutes with the exact timestamps, synchronized with various Internet timeservers. Measured values can be displayed worldwide with any standard web browser, including mobile devices, or by using one or more of Eusotec’s standard XML applications. Further, the offering has an integral intelligent alert system, which sends alerts via email or SMS and has the ability to develop trend graphics and support FTP transfer too.
“With our common solution, we only need to exchange the RS232/RS485 protocol and adapt a few HTML lines in order to connect new devices. This has reduced development time to a few weeks to deliver our software for a new device,” added Rohleff.
“It’s always fantastic to see the innovative ways in which our device servers are being applied to add extra capability to new products, and to expedite time-to-market on new projects,” commented Martin Poppelaars, regional director for EMEA at Lantronix. “We have enjoyed working with the Eusotec team to further their business model and to open up new market opportunities for both Eusotec and Lantronix.”
