COLUMBIA, Md. and SAN JOSE, Calif., March 31 /PRNewswire/ -- Eurotech, a leading provider of embedded products and technologies, today announced that it has entered into a contract with Authentidate for design and delivery of the embedded computing engine for Authentidate’s joint venture ExpressMD Solutions’ remote patient health monitoring device. After initial delivery of units, Authentidate will have the option of moving to a license business model with Eurotech for complete control and responsibility of manufacturing and procurement functions.

The device currently uses the Eurotech BitsyXb embedded computer with a custom carrier card to optimize features and I/O options. Eurotech’s engineering development team will deliver a single board that will leverage the current computer design for greatest cost reduction and differentiation of the platform to fulfill this contract within Authentidate’s accelerated time to market schedule.
Authentidate chose to continue working with Eurotech based on FDA approval of the existing technology, the company’s ability to deliver a low-power solution, past positive engineering design and customer support service, and the company’s business model and product line flexibility.
