Dr. Bitterman is Vice President, and chairman of the Patient Safety and Risk Management Committee, of Emergency Physicians Insurance Company (EPIC), and also a member of its Board of Governors. In addition, he is a chairman of the American Academy of Emergency Medicine EMTALA Task Force.
He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan. He holds a Doctor of Medicine, with Distinction (A.O.A.) from Wayne State University and a Juris Doctorate, Summa Cum Laude from the University of Detroit.
