CPhI Worldwide To Support International Medical Corps UK With Global Charity Partnership

Collaboration to help raise funds, awareness and engagement from pharma community for the charity’s lifesaving work in crises across the globe

Amsterdam, 4th October 2017: CPhI Worldwide, organised by UBM, announces a new dedicated charity partnership with International Medical Corps UK. The collaboration will see UBM extensively promote International Medical Corps across the global pharma community, with a range of fundraising and customised sponsorship packages.

International Medical Corps UK was selected in light of its vital work in delivering lifesaving healthcare and medicine on the frontlines of conflicts, natural disasters, famines and disease outbreaks. Spanning more than 25 countries, their work includes providing vital aid and supplies in hotspots such as Syria, South Sudan, Yemen and Afghanistan.

The charity specialises in delivering rapid support in crisis settings, often within just a few hours, and go where the needs are greatest. Donations will support worldwide relief, recovery and development projects such as midwifery training, emergency nutrition, clean water, improved sanitation and vaccination campaigns. They also enable International Medical Corps’ wider training efforts to equip local people with the knowledge and skills to be their own best First Responders.

UBM is supporting the charity by encouraging its enormous 100,000+ database to provide sponsorships via a variety of available charity packages and direct donations. Donations can be of any monetary value or in-kind while the charity packages range from €995 to €3995, with 100% of the sponsorship going directly to International Medical Corps.

To further incentivise the pharma industry, CPhI Worldwide will also provide a range of free advertising and promotion opportunities at the annual exhibition – the world’s largest pharma event – with a captive audience of more than 42,000 pharmaceutical professionals and industry press. CPhI will also facilitate pharma companies in the donation and distribution of vital medicines and vaccinations.

Rhylie Luanweir, Senior Group Marketing Manager at UBM EMEA commented: “This year we have partnered with International Medical Corps UK due to the outstanding work they carry out, from providing materials for sanitation and hygiene to emergency nutrition, on an international scale. More specifically, they provide their services in regions where people have very limited or no access to healthcare and medicine and in extremely challenging emergency situations. Their commitment and bravery is beyond reproach. CPhI Worldwide is a great platform to raise awareness of these communities in need, and motivate the pharma industry to incorporate charity giving into their business by simplifying the process. Businesses can extend their support in the form of purchasing packages, donating medicine or direct donations.”

“UBM’s long-standing commitment to the humanitarian sector makes them an ideal partner, and we’re thrilled to be working together. International Medical Corps have been given a fantastic opportunity to share our experiences with an industry integral to our work. The support of businesses, individuals and organisations like UBM is absolutely essential in order for us to continue to deliver life-saving care to the people who need it the most”, added Kevin Noone, Executive Director, International Medical Corps UK.
