ANN ARBOR, Mich., May 18 /PRNewswire/ -- The quarterly event Sprouts, co- sponsored by the Ann Arbor IT Zone, MichBio and Arboretum Ventures, will highlight “The Future of Suppliers to the Pharma/Biotech Industry” on Thursday, June 2, 2005 at the Ann Arbor IT Zone, 330 East Liberty Street in downtown Ann Arbor.
The keynote speaker on “The Future of Suppliers to the Pharma/Biotech Industry,” will be Randal Charlton, CEO of Asterand, the Detroit-based human tissue bank that provides research material to the world’s leading drug discovery companies. Charlton’s career has been spent developing new technology in a business environment. Prior to Asterand, he worked for genetics companies in Europe as well as technology companies in the United States.
The featured company is Proteos, a Kalamazoo-based company that provides both consulting services and small-scale protein production to pharmaceutical industry customers. CEO Tom Dammer will provide an overview.
