Analtech Release: BandIT Prep TLC Applicator Announced

iChromatography/Analtech, Inc. - the only U.S. based manufacturer of Thin Layer Chromatography plates - announced the release of the BandIT™ Sample Applicator, a semi-automatic device used to apply a uniform streak or band of sample solution to a TLC plate.

“This device allows users to apply anywhere from 250 to 1,000 microliters of sample to a preparative TLC plate in a uniform, precise line,” said Steven Miles, General Manager of iChromatography/Analtech, Inc. “Last year, we introduced the SpotON device, which allows users to apply up to 18 precise and uniform spots at one time, it just made sense to follow up this year with a device that can offer that same precision to preparative sample application.”

The company gave attendees at Pittcon 2015 a chance to try the device and their responses were enthusiastic and positive.

“This device provides users with a level of precision that could not be reached by traditional manual application,” said Ned Dugan, Technical Director.

Process Engineer Richard Jenkins said developing the BandIT presented an opportunity to make a difference in labs around the world.

“I appreciate the hard work done by researchers and lab technicians, it’s my hope that the BandIT Sample Applicator will help them with both its ease of use and its accuracy,” Jenkins said.
