Keynote addresses industry shifts based on recent advancements in monoclonal antibody drug manufacturing

Thursday, 7 November at 10:20 in the BioProduction Theatre: “Evolution of Raw Material Development and Regulatory Standards – From Monoclonal Drugs to Cell & Gene Therapies”
Dr. Ger Brophy, Executive Vice President, Biopharma Production for Avantor, will deliver a keynote address on how the growing cell and gene therapy industry is incorporating lessons learned from the monoclonal antibody (mAbs) field based on recent developments in raw material processes. Drug manufacturing activities for mAbs have evolved for use in cell and gene therapy. Both processes share similar themes, ranging from raw materials selection and control to advances in continuous processing and implications of adventitious agents. Regulatory standards for advanced therapies are also emerging, but they have not yet been standardized. Dr. Brophy will discuss these parallel developments and considerations in the context of input materials and processes.
