Anglo-Swedish pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca Plc. (AZN) posted a 51% jump in third-quarter earnings Thursday, causing a nice rally in its share price. The positive results came despite an $80 million charge against operating profit following the rejection of Exanta, its anti-clotting drug in the US. The company said it continues to talk to regulators about Exanta.
