UAE’s AED 4.40 billion healthcare allocation for 2019 seen to further drive growth in digital healthcare

March 10, 2019 – Wolters Kluwer, a globally-recognized provider of evidence-based solutions, announced that it will showcase new developments in the world’s most trusted clinical decision support solutions at the upcoming Health and Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS) UAE E-Health Week.

The E-Health Week is part of the UAE’s continuing regional focus on digital healthcare development and is set to gain new boost as the government recently allotted AED 4.40 billion in the federal budget for 2019.

As part of the event, Wolters Kluwer will showcase UpToDateÒ Advanced - a guided clinical decision-making solution with dynamic and interactive algorithms as well as lab monographs designed to reduce unwarranted variations in care and improve clinical effectiveness.

Dave Patnaik, VP & Segment General Manager, Health CE International, Wolters Kluwer, said: “Clinical care variation is widespread, expensive, and it compromises the quality of care. By addressing care variation, healthcare organizations have the opportunity to improve health outcomes at lower cost.”

“With UpToDateÒ Advanced, physicians can streamline care at different points using UpToDateÒ Pathways for interactive decision-making workflows and Lab Interpretationä for evaluating abnormal test results and deciding next steps, which can be a major source of variations in care.”

As a provider of premium healthcare clinical decision support solutions, Wolters Kluwer aims to highlight the growing importance of current, evidence-based information in order to further enhance the high standards of healthcare services in the UAE and the Middle East.

“We are looking forward to being a part of HIMSS yet again this year in order to showcase our latest innovations in clinical decision support solutions, and to network with the dynamic healthcare community in the region,” concluded Patnaik.

UAE eHealth Week, takes place from 17-19 March 2019 at the Intercontinental Dubai Festival City, and is a global IT healthcare event set to welcome over 300 health IT stakeholders to discuss the current digital health transformation, as well as latest developments in change management, workforce development, clinician engagement and Artificial Intelligence.
