George Washington University Offers The MEND Protocol For Alzheimer’s Disease

RALEIGH, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Muses Labs announced today that it has partnered with the George Washington Center for Integrative Medicine (GWCIM) to offer the MEND™ Protocol to patients located in Washington, DC. This agreement allows individuals with pre- and early-symptomatic cognitive decline, as well as mild Alzheimer’s disease patients, to benefit from the MEND Protocol via the Center’s Mental Health program operated in collaboration with the George Washington University Memory Clinic.

“These principles are a natural fit with Muses Labs’ mission and vision of working collaboratively with patients, caregivers and providers in a data-driven manner to address the underlying drivers of cognitive decline unique to each patient -- to improve outcomes.”

The MEND Protocol is a data driven, technology enabled, personalized methodology to correctly identify and simultaneously treat the dozens of pathology drivers of age-related cognitive decline. The MEND Protocol is designed to help patients who are beginning to have symptoms of age-related cognitive decline, those with a family history of dementia and patients with mild Alzheimer’s disease. The Protocol recommends optimal medical interventions personalized for each patient and has the potential to improve memory and cognitive function. The MEND Protocol is an emerging methodology that reflects a new approach to addressing complex diseases.

At the GWCIM, a team of doctors, nutritionists, physical trainers, coaches and experts in lifestyle medicine collaborate to provide comprehensive care to patients. The Center is dedicated to creating a healing environment in which patients have access to medical doctors and a variety of complementary and alternative therapies to promote healing and wellness. It provides a health care program based in science and tradition, where the patient is treated as a whole person and respected as an individual.

“Our guiding principles center on personal empowerment and responsibility, helping our team of providers develop care plans tailored to fit individual needs,” said Mikhail Kogan, MD, Medical Director, GWCIM. “These principles are a natural fit with Muses Labs’ mission and vision of working collaboratively with patients, caregivers and providers in a data-driven manner to address the underlying drivers of cognitive decline unique to each patient -- to improve outcomes.”

“The Center for Integrative Medicine extends leadership in their community through their work with Muses Labs,” said Vik Chandra, CEO, Muses Labs. “Our work with the GWCIM and Dr. Kogan benefits patients today and will further enhance the MEND Protocol to provide treatment and support to those who may have lost hope in finding solutions for cognitive decline, and for additional complex, chronic diseases.”
