CLEVELAND, Oct. 11, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- When faced with a nursing shortage in the pediatric cancer unit at the Uganda Cancer Institute, Dr. Kevin Schwartz, Pediatrician at Massachusetts General Hospital for Children, knew TempTraq® could provide a valuable solution. The major issue Dr. Schwartz faced within the pediatric cancer department at the Institute was a shortage of nursing staff. With only one nurse for every 20 to 40 patients, vital signs were only checked once or twice a day. However, in pediatric cancer patients who already have a suppressed immune system, it is critical that vital signs are tracked more frequently to catch dangerous fevers.  Undetected fevers can be extremely dangerous and potentially deadly in these types of patients.
