Beacon Health Options Names Dan Sheehan as Chief Information Officer

BOSTON, March 12, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Beacon Health Options (Beacon) announced today that Dan Sheehan has joined the national behavioral health management leader as Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer (CIO), effective immediately. In this role, Mr. Sheehan is responsible for leading the company's information technology vision, strategy and execution. Based in Boston, he reports to Russell C. Petrella, Ph.D., Beacon's President and Chief Executive Officer.

Mr. Sheehan joins Beacon from DentaQuest, the second largest dental health insurer in the nation, where he was CIO. At DentaQuest, he spearheaded major system integration efforts and led all IT functions. Previously, he was with Actuate Partners, serving as a leader in operations and technology due diligences.

Earlier in this career, Mr. Sheehan was Chief Operating Officer at Modell's Sporting Goods, where he managed operations and technology. He also served as CIO at Dunkin' Brands and was responsible for the brand's global retail technology strategy, support and execution. At Dunkin' Brands, Mr. Sheehan led the IT department's cross-functional involvement to prepare for the company's successful initial public offering.

Mr. Sheehan earned his bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems from Suffolk University and a master's in Business Administration from Salem State College. He is a board member of the YMCA of Greater Boston and of Ninkasi Technology LLC.
