(Nasdaq: ARTC), a leader in developing state-of-the-art, minimally invasive surgical products, announced two presentations will be made at the 2008 World Conference on Interventional Oncology (WCIO) supporting a novel technique for treating a common condition caused by malignant tumors. The technique relies heavily on the Cavity® SpineWand® radiofrequency instrument as part of a treatment for vertebral compression fractures (VCFs) caused by spinal tumors – clinically known as spinal metastases or mets. These mets destroy the core of the vertebra leading to painful fractures and oftentimes debilitating back pain.
