The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree program offered at the Las Vegas, Nevada campus of Arizona College has received accreditation by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).

LAS VEGAS, July 23, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree program offered at the Las Vegas, Nevada campus of Arizona College has received accreditation by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). This accreditation, which is effective October 2017 through September 2023, reaffirms the high academic standards that Arizona College maintains for its BSN program.

CCNE is a national accrediting body for baccalaureate, graduate and residency programs in nursing, and is recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education. CCNE accreditation ensures a nursing program’s curriculum meets strict standards and assures the public that the nursing program is committed to achieving these high standards.

“Arizona College is committed to addressing Nevada’s nursing shortage by delivering a high quality, rigorous academic curriculum designed to prepare outstanding future nurses,” said Dean of the School of Nursing on the Las Vegas campus, Patricia T. Alpert, DRPH, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC, PNP-BC, CNE, FAANP. “This accreditation reflects the quality of the BSN program at Arizona College, our faculty and the tremendously rich experiences students receive while pursuing their dreams of joining the nursing profession.”

Arizona College prepares nursing students to participate in society and within the healthcare workforce as productive, responsible, and engaged citizens. The College’s mission is achieved through a strong educational foundation that fosters the development of theoretical knowledge to care for a diverse group of clients and the delivery of safe and effective evidence-based patient-centered nursing practice. The goal for graduates of Arizona College’s Nursing Program is to become leaders in nursing and valued members of the inter-professional healthcare team.

To earn CCNE accreditation, the Las Vegas campus conducted a self-study and hosted a site visit for nursing administrators in October of 2017. This is the second Arizona College campus to receive CCNE accreditation for its BSN program. The Mesa campus received CCNE accreditation in July of 2017, effective through June 2022.
