MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 26, 2006--American Medical Systems Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMMD - News) today reported its acquisition of assets from BioControl Medical, Ltd., an Israeli company focused on the development of medical devices for the application of implantable electrical stimulation technology. AMS acquired an exclusive license for the use of the technology in urology, gynecology and other pelvic health applications. The purchase price is comprised of an initial payment and milestone payments (for relevant accomplishments through and including FDA approval of the product) totaling $50 million and royalties over the first ten years of the related license agreement.
