Albemarle Corporation Announces Senior Leadership Changes to Capitalize on Increasing Global Market Opportunities

BATON ROUGE, La., April 11 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The board of directors of leading specialty chemical producer Albemarle Corporation has approved several strategic organizational changes involving members of the Company’s senior leadership team to reinforce Albemarle’s efforts to expand existing businesses and target and develop potential new market opportunities worldwide.

John Dabkowski was named Vice President of Business Development for Albemarle Corporation. Mr. Dabkowski previously served as Vice President of Albemarle’s Polymer Additives segment. A respected industry leader, Mr. Dabkowski will apply more than thirty years of global business expertise in specialty chemicals, additives and catalysts to further develop the Company’s business and product portfolio. Mr. Dabkowski will report to Albemarle’s President and Chief Executive Officer, Mark C. Rohr.

Luc van Muylem was named Vice President of the Company’s Polymer Additives segment. Mr. van Muylem previously served as Division Vice President of Flame Retardants and has over thirty years of industry expertise. The Company will capitalize on Mr. van Muylem’s vision and experience directing the world’s largest flame retardants business to lead its Polymer Additives segment, including businesses that serve customers in markets as diverse as plastics, textiles, fuels and lubricants, coatings, adhesives, sealants, elastomers and inks. Mr. van Muylem will report to John M. Steitz, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Albemarle.

Steve LeVan was named Division Vice President of Flame Retardants. Mr. LeVan previously served as Chief Financial Officer for Albemarle’s Catalysts segment. With more than 25 years directing chemical and pharmaceutical businesses and an impressive track record in corporate strategic planning and finance management, Mr. LeVan will bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to Albemarle’s largest global business. He will report to Mr. van Muylem.
