CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--AkzoNobel, in collaboration with the American Chemical Society (ACS), today launched a major new North American science award to recognize the vital role that scientists play in advancing chemistry and material sciences research with proven or potential significant societal or user benefits. The new biennial AkzoNobel North America Science Award recognizes outstanding scientific contributions guided by the principles and practices of sustainable chemistry by a researcher in the United States or Canada. Awarded in April 2013, the AkzoNobel North America Science Award winner will receive a $75,000 cash award from the company.
