SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Affymetrix Inc. (Nasdaq:AFFX) announced today that its GeneChip® Tiling Arrays have been used to uncover highly complex RNA transcription and regulation activity across the entire genome. A team at Affymetrix Research Laboratories led by Thomas R. Gingeras, Ph.D., vice president of biological science at Affymetrix, has been working on a number of studies designed to understand how the human genome is organized and its genes regulated. A manuscript, entitled “RNA Maps Reveal New RNA Classes and a Possible Function for Pervasive Transcription,” published online May 17, 2007, by Science Magazine, details the results of these studies.
