2017 was a significant year for healthcare, but it was especially big for Aeroflow. The leading provider of durable medical equipment and an Inc. Magazine 5000 Fastest Growing Company today outlined its Year-in-Review, sharing a list of notable achievements that made 2017 the company’s most significant year yet.
“We’re in the business of making our patients’ and our customers’ patients lives better, easier and healthier,” said Aeroflow CEO Casey Hite. “That means that each day at Aeroflow, we strive to improve our own products and services for our patients. Our highly dedicated team shows unparallelled passion for their work, and in 2017 they helped more individuals than ever before receive the medical equipment they need to live the lives they want. I’m excited for what 2018 holds as we continue to make a difference in our patients’ lives, and welcome new rockstars to join our incredible group of professionals.”
2017 was an unprecedented year for Aeroflow, with significant new hires, record sales revenues and several notable award recognitions. Highlights from Aeroflow’s record-breaking year include but are not limited to:
Aeroflow earned three highly regarded industry recognitions in 2017, including a higher ranking for the third consecutive year on Inc. Magazine’s 5000 Fastest Growing Companies list, certification for the highly coveted Great Place to Work Award, and the HME Excellence Award for Best Home Medical Equipment Provider -- all made possible by the hard work of the Aeroflow employees.
Aeroflow achieved an annual sales growth rate of 146%. By actively seeking new markets, expanding through its competitive acquisition strategy, and moving from a brick-and-mortar model to a pack, pick, and ship model, Aeroflow continued its expansion geographically and in product lines.
Aeroflow saw a 17% increase in job growth. In 2017, 5,840 people applied for jobs, and the company expects to hire an additional 50-100 employees in 2018. Aeroflow was also accredited as a Living Wage Certified Employer in 2017. By focusing less on process and more on employees, Aeroflow fostered engagement and development, driving information from the bottom up.
As a result of high sales growth and increased hiring, Aeroflow purchased and renovated a new distribution facility, The Hite Fulfillment Center. The 35,000 square foot location will consolidate all inventory, improve logistical efficiency and allow Aeroflow to better service its patients with a state-of-the-art facility to deliver much-needed medical supplies faster than ever before.
Aeroflow increased its commitment to its mothers and families. New Aeroflow parents -- adopted and biological -- are now offered a reimagined and highly unique parental leave policy, including six weeks of paid maternity leave with other benefits including covered costs for doula services, a breast pump and accessories, and one year of free diapers. Aeroflow also renovated a new lactation room designed to fulfill the needs of its working, breastfeeding moms both comfortably and conveniently. For this, Aeroflow was certified as a Breastfeeding-Friendly Workplace by the North Carolina Breastfeeding Coalition.
Aeroflow Breastpumps debuted a new online breast pump marketplace and Breastfeeding Advocacy Team, in support of the goal to increase breastfeeding rates nationally. The new Aeroflow Breastpumps website is one of a kind, allowing moms to shop for breast pumps and purchase them through insurance.
Aeroflow Urology experiences record growth and gives back. Aeroflow Urology has more than doubled in size to meet the growing demand for incontinence and catheter supplies. Aeroflow Urology donated diapers to Hurricane Harvey victims through the Madison County Sheriff’s department. Aeroflow Urology participated in the 2017 Zero K Prostate Cancer Walk/Run in Greensboro, NC; Spina Bifida Walk -N - Roll Event; and was a gold sponsor for the NASW Fall Conference.
Aeroflow supported communities in need -- at home and across the country, through its social responsibility program. Employees are allotted up to two days per year for community service of their choice, such as building community gardens, working at Loving Food Resources food drives, and attending sponsored Habitat for Humanity builds. Aeroflow also donated to Hurricane Harvey relief with the Madison County, Texas Sheriff’s department and partnered with Grady Hospital in Atlanta to ensure incarcerated women in the Dekalb Detention Center can access a breast pump kit.
Aeroflow’s mission is to ensure quality care from first breath to last, whether for its patients, employees or business partners. Its 2018 theme is “Our Best Year Yet,” and it plans to make it so with record sales growth, employee satisfaction and community involvement through philanthropy, and by making it easier than ever before for patients to obtain much-needed equipment and supplies.
