Actavis Launches Trimipramine Maleate Capsules In The U.S.

CRANFORD, N.J., Sept. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Actavis U.S., the United States manufacturing and marketing division of the international generic pharmaceutical company Actavis Group (ICEX: ACT), announced that it has received approval from the U.S. Food & Drug Administration to market Trimipramine Maleate Capsules. Distribution of the product will commence immediately.

Trimipramine Maleate Capsules, the generic equivalent of Odyssey Pharmaceutical's Surmontil(R) Capsules, are available in 25mg, 50mg and 100mg strengths. Trimipramine Maleate is indicated for the relief of symptoms of depression.

Annual brand sales of Trimipramine Maleate capsules in the U.S. were approximately US$4.2 million for the twelve months ending June 2006 according to IMS Health data.
