Workers at Daiichi Sankyo, Inc.'s Zenotech Laboratories Go on Strike

About 120 full-time and 30 part-time employees of Zenotech Laboratories - which was controlled by Ranbaxy Laboratories before Daiichi Sankyo bought the Indian drugmaker - have gone on an “indefinite strike” because they claim they were not paid salaries last month and management has gone back on its word about marketing Zenotech products, according to reports from India. Apparently, production has been stopped in the Zenotech plant in Hyderabad and research and development operations were suspended for a third straight day. Zenotech makes 13 products including three biotech and 10 oncology products. Through its acqusition of Ranbaxy, Daiichi holds nearly 67 percent in Zenotech.
