In one of the more curious departures of a high-ranking FDA official, Leona Brenner-Gati unexpectedly resigned from the agency earlier this month and did so immediately for unexplained personal reasons. Her resignation came just seven months after joining the FDA following a long career at Johnson & Johnson and now a Congressional committee is investigating what she was doing on the job.
