Deficiency of vitamin D in the body may cause higher risk of heart attacks, a new study has claimed. The study involving more than 10,000 Danes and was conducted by the University of Copenhagen in collaboration with Copenhagen University Hospital. “We have now examined the association between a low level of vitamin D and ischemic heart disease and death in the largest study to date,” said Dr Peter Brondum-Jacobsen, Clinical Biochemical Department, Copenhagen University Hospital.
