PHILADELPHIA, April 24, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Mark Hassenplug, President of global life sciences compliance consulting firm, Maetrics, recently announced the appointment of Edward A. Tomlinson as Managing Director of the company’s Mid-Atlantic region. Tomlinson brings to Maetrics over three decades of experience at the highest levels, with such firms as Ernst & Young, Hewlett Packard, and KPMG, where he is acclaimed for his planning, operations, management and compliance insight and innovative solutions for some of the largest life sciences companies in the world. He will participate in the Maetrics leadership as a manager of some of Maetrics’ largest medical device and pharmaceutical clients, overseeing global project deliveries, providing intellectual and conceptual guidance, and spearheading preventative problem definition and solutions.

Notable within Mr. Tomlinson’s exceptional career was his work for the National Patent Development Corporation a company which acquired under-utilized technologies and developed them to mature FDA-approved products and facilities. During this time Mr. Tomlinson also worked with the FDA on the initial promulgation of the device Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) and process and equipment validation guidelines.
Mr. Tomlinson attended the University of Bradford in England where he received a BTech Hons, Chemistry and Chemical Technology, with a minor in biochemistry.
