INDIANAPOLIS, Sept. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Vertellus Specialties Inc., a leading specialty chemicals company, today announced that, effective October 1, 2009, it would increase the price of its Vitride(R) reducing agent by 50 cents per kg for all non-contract customers or as existing contracts permit. The price increase will enable Vertellus to continue to invest in expanding global supply for the high performance, reducing agent. Vertellus is planning a substantial expansion of capacity to help support the use of Vitride(R), which is a more selective, safer and easier to handle reducing agent than many of the alternatives. Vitride(R) has multiple applications in pharmaceutical, flavor and fragrance as well as agrochemical manufacture. Vertellus is committed to continued investment in, and expansion of, its longstanding leadership position in this area as well as continuing to expand its offerings to the chemical synthesis industry.
