The updated news from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention today in regards to the ongoing fungal meningitis outbreak in the nation doesn’t provide much positive news, at least not at this point in time. To date, 91 cases of the non-contagious infection have been reported in nine states: Florida, Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, North Carolina, Ohio, Tennessee and Virginia. Seven deaths have resulted from the meningitis and some of the patients have had strokes due to the meningitis.
