Though the economy has posted encouraging growth numbers and unemployment is coming down—GDP grew at a decent 2.6% in 2014’s final quarter and unemployment, at 5.6%, has fallen to its lowest rate since June of 2008—many Americans are still stressing over their finances. That’s partly because real wages across the board have risen a measly 2% in the last seven years if you adjust for inflation.
